NJAC HONORS 100 YEARS OF SISTERHOOD, SCHOLARSHIP, SERVICE AND SOCIAL ACTION

January 13, 2013, marked the profound centennial celebration of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., honoring a century of transformative leadership and collective commitment to social change. In 2013, the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter stood proudly among sorors nationwide, actively participating in historic commemorations that reflected the Sorority’s enduring mission and legacy.
NJAC members were represented at the re-enactment of the Women’s Suffrage March, paying homage to the Founders’ original 1913 participation and their unwavering fight for voting rights and gender equity. The chapter also took part in the formal Rededication ceremony, reaffirming its pledge to scholarship, service, and social action. Additional highlights included participation in the Sweetheart Song at Howard University, the sacred birthplace of the Sorority, and attendance at the historic Centennial National Convention in Washington, DC.
Together, these moments captured the spirit of a century-long journey—one defined by courage, unity, and purposeful action—while reaffirming NJAC’s ongoing commitment to advancing the sorority’s mission for generations to come.
