KWANZAA FAMILY FESTIVAL

This collage highlights the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter’s joyful participation at its Kwanzaa Family Festival, a community celebration rooted in African heritage, unity, and cultural pride. Through vibrant displays, hands-on activities, and interactive learning experiences, NJAC helps families explore the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa (Nguzo Saba)—unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Sorors engage attendees in cultural crafts, storytelling, and meaningful discussions that honor the spirit of the holiday and highlight the importance of family and community collaboration.
The images capture sorors standing proudly with community partners, youth engaging at activity tables, and traditional Kwanzaa symbols displayed with care, including the kinara, unity cup, and cultural adornments. NJAC’s presence at the festival reflects Delta Sigma Theta’s mission to uplift and empower communities through cultural education and service. By participating in the Kwanzaa Family Festival, the chapter fosters intergenerational connection, nurtures cultural awareness, and strengthens community bonds in a warm and celebratory atmosphere. This event stands as a testament to NJAC’s dedication to heritage, unity, and collective progress.
