CENSUS SIGN-UP – MAKING OUR COMMUNITY COUNT

This collage highlights the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter’s dedicated efforts to support Census sign-up and community outreach, ensuring that every household is counted and properly represented. Understanding that Census participation directly impacts funding for schools, healthcare, housing, social services, and political representation, NJAC mobilized sorors to educate residents, assist with registration, and dispel myths surrounding the process. The images show members staffing informational tables, hosting awareness sessions, and proudly displaying messaging that emphasizes the importance of being counted.
Aligned with Delta Sigma Theta’s Political Awareness and Involvement thrust, this initiative reflects NJAC’s commitment to civic engagement and equitable resource distribution. By advocating for full participation—especially within historically undercounted communities—the chapter helped strengthen political voice, economic opportunity, and public investment across the region. The coordinated effort underscores the power of grassroots outreach and the critical role Delta women play in shaping stronger, better-informed communities. Through their Census work, NJAC ensures that the voices of families, neighborhoods, and local organizations were recognized and valued.
