DFREE – A FINANCIAL LITERACY PROJECT

dfree®, is a nationally recognized financial literacy movement designed to help individuals break free from debt, build sustainable financial habits, and achieve long-term economic stability. Through seminars, workshops, and guided discussions—such as the event featuring Dr. DeForest Soaries, Jr.—NJAC provides participants with practical tools to manage finances, reduce debt, and create pathways toward generational wealth. The dfree® curriculum encourages honest conversation about spending, saving, borrowing, and investing, empowering community members with the knowledge needed to make confident financial decisions.
This initiative aligns with Delta Sigma Theta’s commitment to Economic Development, one of the Five-Point Programmatic Thrusts, and demonstrates NJAC’s dedication to strengthening families through financial empowerment. By hosting multi-session workshops, distributing financial planning materials, and creating welcoming spaces for personal growth, NJAC helps participants move from financial stress toward financial freedom. The program not only builds economic resilience but also supports broader community wellness by promoting stability, responsibility, and long-term success. Through dfree®, NJAC continues its impactful work of uplifting communities with transformative education and resources.
