DELTA TEEN LIFT HBCU TOUR

The Delta Teen Lift HBCU Touris a transformative educational experience designed to expose young ladies and men in the 7th-12th grades to the rich legacy, academic excellence, and cultural pride found within Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Through this immersive program, the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter provides teens with the opportunity to visit multiple campuses, meet faculty and students, tour facilities, and gain firsthand insight into college life. The experience not only expands students’ awareness of higher education options but also fosters a deep appreciation for the historic role HBCUs have played in shaping Black leadership, scholarship, and community advancement.
Guided by Delta Sigma Theta’s commitment to Educational Development, Delta Teen Lift, established at the national level in 1971 and adopted by NJAC in the same year, empowers participants to envision their future possibilities while strengthening their confidence and college readiness. The tour encourages goal-setting, builds cultural pride, and connects students with mentors who support their academic journeys. For many teens, the experience serves as a pivotal moment—one that affirms their potential, broadens their horizons, and inspires them to pursue higher education with purpose and determination. The HBCU Tour stands as a shining example of NJAC’s dedication to uplifting youth and investing in the next generation of scholars and leaders.
