DELTA GEMS PROGRAM

Members of the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter working alongside participants in the Delta GEMS Program—a signature youth initiative designed to support young ladies ages 14-18 as they develop resilience, leadership skills, academic focus, and a strong sense of self-worth. Delta GEMS, which stands for Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully, provides a structured environment where young women receive mentorship, guidance, and opportunities to engage in meaningful service projects such as this coat drive. Surrounded by donated winter items, the GEMS and NJAC mentors demonstrate how community service becomes a shared, empowering experience that teaches compassion, responsibility, and civic engagement.
Rooted in Delta Sigma Theta’s commitment to Educational Development and youth empowerment, Delta GEMS helps young women navigate adolescence while preparing them for academic excellence, college readiness, and future leadership roles. Through workshops, community outreach, and supportive mentorship circles, the program encourages goal-setting, cultural pride, and personal growth. This image captures the joy and impact of that mission—illustrating how NJAC continues to invest in the next generation of young women, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to successfully transition into adulthood and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
