DELTA DAYS – ESSEX COUNTY

This image highlights Delta Days in Essex County, a collaborative civic engagement initiative led by the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter and Montclair Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Designed to strengthen the relationship between the community and local government, Delta Days provides a platform for sorors, residents, and public officials to engage in meaningful dialogue about policies affecting education, health, economic development, social justice, and overall quality of life. Through workshops, legislative briefings, and community forums, participants gain deeper insight into how local government functions and how they can influence change through informed advocacy.
The event embodies Delta Sigma Theta’s long-standing commitment to Political Awareness and Involvement, empowering citizens—particularly women and families—to participate actively in the democratic process. The group photo captures sorors proudly standing together in unity and purpose, reflecting decades of collective service and leadership in Essex County. Delta Days fosters civic responsibility, encourages voter participation, and strengthens partnerships with local leaders to address pressing community concerns. This initiative remains a cornerstone of NJAC’s mission to uplift communities through informed engagement, advocacy, and unwavering dedication to social action.
