DELTA ACADEMY – PREPARING YOUNG WOMEN FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

This image highlights the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter’s commitment to empowering the next generation through the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, one of Delta Sigma Theta’s signature youth initiatives designed to nurture and prepare young girls for success in the 21st century. Geared toward 11-14 aged girls, Delta Academy provides a structured, nurturing environment where participants can explore STEM, leadership development, cultural enrichment, emotional wellness, and academic readiness. Through engaging workshops, mentoring relationships, and hands-on learning experiences, the program helps young women build confidence, sharpen critical thinking skills, and discover their potential.
The NJAC Delta Academy committee members—pictured here with students and mentors—embodies Delta’s mission of uplifting youth through education and personal growth. By fostering positive role models and supportive networks, the chapter helps participants develop the tools necessary to navigate adolescence and pursue future opportunities with clarity and purpose. Aligned with the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust and its longstanding investment in youth empowerment, Delta Academy serves as a transformative space that cultivates curiosity, strengthens self-esteem, and prepares young women to become leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond.
