JABBERWOCK – SUPPORTING LOCAL TALENT AND PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS

Jabberwock has long been one of Delta Sigma Theta’s most celebrated cultural traditions, and for Kappa Sigma Chapter—now the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter (NJAC)—it became a signature event dedicated to uplifting the artistic gifts of the community while expanding educational opportunity. Through its Jabberwock productions, the chapter created a vibrant platform where local performers could showcase their talents in music, dance, theater, and spoken word. These events not only highlighted the richness of community creativity but also fostered confidence and connection among participants of all ages.

At the heart of Jabberwock was a deeper mission: supporting scholarships for deserving youth. Funds raised through the event were directly reinvested into educational awards, enabling the chapter to help students pursue academic excellence and broaden their opportunities for the future. The combination of celebrating the arts and advancing scholarship aligned seamlessly with Delta Sigma Theta’s commitment to educational development and community empowerment. For generations, Jabberwock served as both a beloved cultural showcase and a powerful fundraising engine—an enduring example of how Kappa Sigma blended creativity, service, and tradition to strengthen its impact across northern New Jersey.
