On behalf of the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., welcome to our website. It is an honor to serve as Chapter President, working alongside 350 college-educated women dedicated to blazing trails in sisterhood, scholarship, and service.

 

Founded in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was established with a vision rooted in public service and a commitment to addressing the social issues facing the Black community. In response to the charge of our 22 founders, the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter was chartered in 1939 as the first chapter in the State of New Jersey. Since then, we have made significant strides in serving the communities of Essex, Hudson, and Union counties, guided by our national Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

 

• Economic Development

• Educational Development

• International Awareness and Involvement

• Physical and Mental Health

• Political Awareness and Involvement

 

Guided by the theme Forward Together in Passion and Purpose, our NJAC vision for this biennium is “To boldly build our capacity as leaders and changemakers, to nurture an unbreakable sisterhood rooted in love and empowerment, and to ignite transformative community service that leaves a lasting legacy of hope and progress”.
